Joshua 1v3 || Before elevation there must be separation.
There was a silence in the camp. The air was heavy because of the unknown. After 40 years in the desert God as set the up for a new day.
Moses was gone that .asked the end of an era. The river Jordan stood before Joshua and a new future.
Everything they knew is now behind them. On the other side the promised land.
Joshua in his new role as the leader of the Israelites had to bridge the new and the old. The mantle of leadership transferred from Moses to him rested heavily.
Joshua heard the voice of God. It was a clear and intimate declaration the new leader. EVERYWHERE YOU STEP YOUR FOOT I WILL GIVE IT TO YOU.
They didn't have to earn it simply poses it. That doesn't mean there aren't barriers. But yiu have to step ou to where Gid wants you to be.
It's easy to be comfortable and staybwith what you know. Slavery was easier for then. They asked Moses why take us out to die.
Before tou cab inherit, you must step out of something else. There must be a painful separation before elevation.
The river was a boundary to separate from the past to walk into the promise of the future.
He remembers burials, not wanting to separate. The desert was safe and predictable. But this is not where God wanted them to be. Is that the case for you.
Joshua could see.the wilderness behind him in hopes of what God had for them ahead.
In the wilderness they saw the same thing everyday because they were to scared to reach for what wad ahead.
Joshua remembers the dear, the doubt, and now all this weight was on Joshua. The mental enslavement is what kept them from.whaf God had for them.
They could not see abundance. They were tied to scarcity. Their minds were still enslaved.
They had to go to the desert so the old nature can die off. The desert was a detox into a new place God had for them.
God raised a new generation. The desert was a routing and something they new. There was security on the limits. They didn't have to do anything. They only reacted but never took action.
They were aways in the waiting room. The circling needed to stop. You can't enter promise whole still stuck to the familiar.
The one step Joshua took was a step from fear, and dount. The promise is activated by movement. God said I will give you the land when you stop on it.
Something shifts not on the land or the river but in us. Something shifts in us when we take a step.
Joshua is now a leader not a follower, a young warrior. He steps in as a new man. He tells them to separate to prepare elevate.
God elevates those who separate, consecrate, and activate. They separate from fear. Doubt and the wilderness mentality.
The children ran, the adults wept, and rejoiced. It was like crossing the Red Sea. The real work was done inside of them as they left the slave mentality behind.
It took faith and trust in God and letting go of the past, grumbling about the leaders and taking God at his word. They had to forget the scary stories of giants. They had to forget the comfort food of slavery. They arw no more wanderers but contains conqueres.
Once they made the decision to fight for what they were promised they stepped into elevation.
Once they stopped into the jordan, it was a permanent reminder for future generations. They physically moved from fear doubt and the chains of the future.
You cannot enter the promise whole holding hands with the past.
Separation of not punishment, it is God clearing the runway for tiu to take off.
Maybe the future looks to big. Separate from fear, old habits circles, thinking, grounded while God is trying to elevate. Step away from what Gof has already promised. Elevation won't come until youstep. The future is already promise.
